I think I need to stop starting new projects. But when I saw these I couldn't help myself. Purple is one of my all time favorite colors so I love how this turned out. I think that would make great wedding centerpieces. I want to get married now just to use them. :)

Here it is!

Here is the finished Dragonscale piece. This is a bracelet that I made, but I will be doing more with this weave eventually.

Isn't it beautiful. Notice the double layers of rings, facing opposite directions, it created a neat scale type pattern. Already sold off my Etsy site, but it will be relisted.

Dragonscale Coming Soon

There are literally endless chainmaille weaves and variants of weaves and I love when I get one down well enough that I feel proud to have it for sale. So with my practice lately there will be a new weave design coming soon to my selection in my Etsy shop. I did not create Dragonscale, but its a gorgeous weave and its bound to please.

So keep an eye out.

Spring has Sprung

New Anklet Bracelets listed. Since the weather is getting warmer I figured that people might want to start showing off those gorgeous legs of theirs, and what better to adorn them than a chainmaille anklet.

I did a small little indoor flea market in Anoka, and didn't do half bad. I had more fun than anything. I love talking to people about what I do. I should have a few people emailing me about chainmaille and how I do things and where I get supplies that stuff. I love being able to pass it on. So my second show under my belt and I think I'm ready to go bigger now. I'm so excited.

I'm getting my apartment all cleaned up and organized so I can have more space to keep all my craft show stuff together and organized too. Making up a huge inventory will be the next priority next, along with coming up with more designs.

To anyone visiting here after seeing me in Anoka, thanks so much!

Talk about some self motivation. I'm kicking my butt into gear here. Ive picked out a new color scheme for web design and I will be making my Etsy site, future website and my craft show display all very cohesive. I'm in the process of tracking down someone to help me design the new logo that I have in my head too. I'm dedicated to make my maille a success and I'm going to start getting my butt out there. So there will be a lot of new designs and pictures coming soon.

Here is my second chainmaille covered candle holder design. I'm loving this one tons too.

Aluminum half persian 3 in 1 weave "collar" draped with a simple 1 in 1 chain and accented with spider charms. The candle holder is 11" around at its widest in the middle, the opening is 2.25" in diameter, and 5" tall.

New Design

Here it is. A brand new designed chainmaille covered candle holder. This is the first of many more patterns to come. I made this the other night and I couldnt be happier about it.

Stainless Steel rings in a European 4 in 1 pattern. The glass candle holder is about the size of a softball, 12.5" around the widest and 2.5" diameter opening. Ive had mine burning for hours and the rings havent gotten that hot, alittle warm, but not dangerous.
I plan to make a more feminine one out of some aluminum rings with beads nad dangly things.

Ive been a bad blogger. :) No post in awhile, since my personal life has been all over the place in the last couple months. Thing are definately settling down now, and Im working on one of my goals for the new year to work on a lot more pieces.

Here are just a couple of bracelets that I had started and now finished and posted for sale on Etsy. Nothing too grand, but baby-steps, the bigger pieces I want to work on will be coming soon.

A japanese weave in a wavey pattern. Im liking how this one came out. A matching necklace will sone too. Made from bright aluminum rings that I made myself.

Just a simple tiny byzantine weave. I make this in a necklace and just threw together this bracelet too. Made from bright aluminum as well.

Another goal I had for 2008 was to be more active in pursing modeling. Ive recently found an amazing photographer so Im hoping for some great pictures of me in some of my larger pieces soon.

I'll try to be better with posting more, I promise. :)

Halloween is Around the Corner

Its getting to be my favorite time of year. The summer starts to cool down, and usually we have such brilliant fall colors in the trees. Halloween is coming. My favorite holiday. Here a a few of my pieces that are Halloween themed. More to come tomorrow when I can get some daylight pictures. *Spoiler* The new one has neat bone shaped beads.

I got my feet wet at my first craft show this weekend. A friend of mine had some table space at the Rice craft show so she let me set up. I think I did pretty well. Definately learned whats in demand at a craft show and whats not. Im definately hooked now. I want to do more.

Ive made about 7 wallet chains in the last couple days. My wonderful free advertising boyfriend wore one to work and someone said he would bring some of them to Sturgis with him to sell at his booth. I guess he sells motorcycle trailers, but Mac trusts him, and a small contract wont hurt either. It might be nice to see how well some of my stuff sells to that audience. I never wanted to be tied down to one genre. I like being versatile, from belly dancers to bikers, soudns good to me.

Though now I just feel like my hands are going to curl up and die, but the show must go on.

Been awhile

Its been a slow and hectic last month. In one week my computer died and my boyfriend was hurt at work. Well, he's back at work and my computer is still dead. It will probably be awhile before I get my computer back up and running, or get a new one, but Mac has been gracious enough to give me free reign on his for now. So I have a couple new designs to promote.

First is a Stainless steel wallet chain. Made with 3/16ths of an inch rings in a byzantine pattern. This one is made to 20 inches long without the clasp or big ring. I will be making these in 20 inches and 24 inches too. Most likely full persian and box weave ones to come.

This is a half persian weave done in 3/16" stainless steel rings. One of my new favorite pieces that I wear myself. It lays nice and flat on the back and has a nice design on the top. Matching necklace and ankle bracelet to come.

Thanks!

And this is a new necklace, "Spider Princess."

This is a beautiful necklace made from tiny byzantine segments alternating with black glass beads, finished with three spider charms. Its made from high grade Bright Aluminum with glass beads,a lobster clasp and metal charms.

Im definately making one for me.

Not jewelry...

But look what I made tonight.

We went and picked out our strawberries. I have so many left. I'll probably end up making another pie. Oh my, are they heaven in pie form :)

Sometimes Im just in awe at the beautiful things that Mother Earth creates. Hell, most of the time I am. From huge natural rock formations to medicinal plants to the beautiful little strawberry.

If anyone wants the recipe for the pie, it was super easy and on the back of a label for a pie crust. I would be more than happy to post it if someone wants it.

Rock Porn

A picture is worth 1,000 words.

I do love rose quartz something fierce. These hearts and squares are just huge. I dont know what Im going to do with them, but I needed to bring them home.

And these labrodorites just has the prettiest rainbows. I like them alittle rough, but they have all the shine.

This string was my huge purchase. I just loved them!

Its been a long day, we were up at 7am to get ready and head out to the show. Spent a few hours there, ate, then went to the zoo. The zoo was rather disappointing, but I got to eat some Dippin' Dots, and a snow cone.

Two years ago when I went to this gem and rock expo there were quite a few more vendors, but still tons to look at this year. My boyfriend, Mac, even bought a few strands for himeself. That I will of course have to make into something for him, but it was nice to see him interested in rocks too. He didnt really get interested until someone handed him a list of energy properties and stuff. I can rant and rave and tell him about stones till I was blue in the face, but it took a sheet of paper to do it for him. Men, go figure. But it was nice to have him asking questions and picking out his own stones. He bought some Malachite, amethyst, green adventurine, and he got a unikite dragon. And his big buy was a flourite massage wand. Damn, I didnt realize those things felt so nice.

Overall it was a great day! A day away from the apartment, buying some rocks, looking at animals and spending some time with my boyfriend.

Rocks!

Leaving for the rock expo in minutes. Then over an hour drive to get there. But thats ok, rocks are worth it! I hope to go to the zoo afterwards since its minutes away from the rock expo. I havent been to a zoo in years. They sadden me, but I cant help but want to go.

Im waiting on the boyfriend now...

I doubt that many people have started reading my blog here by now. But in case anyone is curious as to what I look like.
Black and white is flattering on everyone! :)

Custom order

Just finished up a custom order for a trade that Im doing. Its taken me a bit long than I thought to get done, not because of the piece, but I havent been feeling too well lately.

Tiny Aluminum byzantine segmented necklace with black beads, also made a matching ankle bracelet. Just about 20 inches long, and is 3/16ths of an inch wide. All beaded segments were done by hand too.

Two days till my rock show. Yay, and I have more money to spend than I thought!
